The Great Escape is without doubt one of the best-loved adventure movies of all time, with its stellar cast, iconic set-pieces and famous Elmer Bernstein score.

Big Screen Live is proud to have worldwide rights to present this wonderful movie with a full orchestra playing the score live.

Telling the incredible true story of how a group of allied POWs escaped a German camp during World War II, the film features Steve McQueen, Richard Attenborough, James Coburn, Donald Pleasance, James Garner, Charles Bronson, Gordon Jackson and a host of other stars directed by John Sturges and produced by Walter Mirisch.

 

The music by Bernstein features one of the most famous and recognisable themes ever written for movies and the whole thrilling score (90 mins of music) is a masterclass of film scoring.

 

All the music for The Great Escape Live in Concert has been orchestrated and prepared using Elmer Bernstein’s original 1963 conductor score.
